Technology Vision

The Pembroke Central School District is committed to effectively utilizing emerging technologies to prepare students for graduation, with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to lead productive lives. Advances in technology are increasingly impacting the ways we obtain, process, evaluate, and use information. It is our District’s responsibility and commitment to:

  1. View technology as fundamental tool of education.

  2. Commit to sustained, equitable access to equipment.

  3. Ensure appropriate and effective use of technology in order to develop critical thinking, problem solving, and ethical awareness.

  4. Foster creativity and communication using tools and activities that are relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our students need for college and career readiness.

  5. Enhance our teachers’ ability to create, deliver, and manage instruction with ongoing, pertinent staff development opportunities.

  6. Individualize instruction using technology that allows students to develop knowledge and skills adapted for the various learning styles and levels. 

Areas of Focus


The District will integrate technology to align current curriculum with Common Core State Standards, ISTE, New York State Learning Standards and other applicable standards.


All students will foster skills to acquire, interpret, synthesize and present information from multiple sources of technology to research, develop creativity, and nurture higher level thinking skills.

Teachers and staff will utilize current and innovative technologies to enhance classroom instruction in order to facilitate learning and problem solving.


Administration and teachers will utilize comparable and reportable data to inform and guide instruction.


Administrators, teachers, staff, and students will be effective users of digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively.


The District will continue to develop and maintain an appropriate infrastructure, workstations, and tools to ensure the rapidly changing technology needs are implemented and supported.


Students and staff will use technology to enhance their productivity to conduct research, solve problems and manage projects using appropriate digital tools and resources.

Internet Safety/Citizenship

Increase understanding and teaching of responsible online behaviors and citizenship.
